Celebrity Cruises® invites you to discover a destination so awe-inspiring, it’s like leaving the planet completely—the Galápagos Islands. You will come face-to-face with extraordinary creatures found nowhere else, from 100-year-old giant tortoises to iconic blue-footed boobies. A visit to the Galápagos is nothing short of life-changing, so it calls for an equally incredible ship.
That’s where Celebrity Flora® comes in. The first luxury mega yacht designed specifically for the Galápagos Islands features an outward-facing design that puts the destination’s natural wonders on full display. All-suites accommodations offer every luxury imaginable, including a Personal Suite Attendant who ensures you never have to lift a finger, an in-room water filtration system for staying refreshed sustainably, laundry service twice per cruise, and more. In fact, everything you need is included, like daily shore excursions guided by certified naturalists, gear, Wi-Fi, drinks, and locally sourced cuisine from menus by a Michelin-starred chef.
One-of-a-kind experiences create an even closer connection to the islands. That includes The Lab, where you will learn more about the region’s ecosystem. Galápagos Glamping treats you to an unforgettable evening under the stars in stylish cabanas, complete with guided stargazing. Even getting to and from the islands is more seamless than ever thanks to custom Novurania tenders.
You want to travel in good company, too, and Celebrity’s commitment to the Galápagos is unparalleled. It recently launched a no-cost hospitality school that will open a world of travel industry opportunities for the islands’ brightest students. Celebrity has also taken part in everything from reforestation efforts to organic farming initiatives. Plus, Celebrity Flora® has been designed with state-of-the-art technology to make it one of the region’s most eco-friendly ships. Additional corporate initiatives that Celebrity has implemented include these impactful sustainability practices:
Greening the Galápagos: Scalesia Planting Project
Launched in June 2014, the program began with guests planting endemic species in the highlands of Santa Cruz Island. Up to February 2022, nearly 60,000 unique plants have been added to the Galápagos in the National Park area. Since the start of this project, more than 22, 000 guests and employees have contributed!
Creative Connections with Nature
Library Art, Galápagos 2021, is a four-week summer art program for over 60 children to explore their relationship with the islands via painting, theater, and storytelling. Celebrity has also enabled local children with special needs to participate in Environmental Literacy camps, in which participants learn to understand the fragility of Galápagos and the planet through activities that connect them to conservation efforts.
Working with Local Suppliers for Vessels
Supporting local producers is an integral aspect to Celebrity’s operations. As such, Celebrity works every week with local farmers, fishermen, providers of logistic services, technical providers, and other services to ensure operations. Highlights include the purchase of fresh seafood, local organic vegetables, eggs, poultry, and dairy products.
